Prehospital Blood Transfusion Policies, Protocols Guidelines & Training

In this session, agencies will learn about clinical practice guidelines for prehospital blood transfusion, FDA regulations for the management of blood products and what’s involved in accreditation by the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB). A number of EMS agencies openly share their transfusion protocols for agencies to use as is or adapt according to their organization’s needs. Common clinical questions will be addressed by the panel, as will paramedic training and clinician scope-of-practice laws.
