Celebrate EMS Week
EMS Week celebrates the positive impact EMS providers have on the health and safety of people across the country. Recognized since 1974, this EMS Week - May 20 – 26, 2018 - NHTSA’s Office of EMS honors the dedication and commitment of EMS providers nationwide.
This year, NHTSA recognizes that the EMS community is “Stronger Together.” Whether it’s partner providers on an ambulance, or the Federal entities that work together to support EMS agencies nationwide, collaboration, partnership and a willingness to learn from each other make the nation’s EMS systems what they are today.
Emergency Medical Services respond to approximately 30 million activations each year, which necessitates significant coordination from the local to federal level. The Office of EMS is committed to working with other federal partners, national associations and EMS leadership to advance EMS systems and the profession.
